Chapter 2416: 3/3
Chapter 2416: 3/3
That night.
The sky abomination who has been roaming around the planet trying to think of a way came back to the mountain he was staying in.
The mountain cave that he turned into his abode. Also the same mountain cave that started all of this stuff.
There are countless drawings and words neatly engraved on the cave. Each drawing describing a city, or a place, or a planet, or even some races. And the words beside the drawing describing those drawings in detail.
The large cave is filled with such engravings.
As for why its interesting... none of these races, places or cities do not belong to this planet. They are all things of outside world. In the middle of that cave was the skeleton of a man that was made to sit crosslegged.
In front of that skeleton was a passage on the floor.
'If there is a higher being beyond the power of those ruled my fate. Take this as my dying wish and curse the gods that played with me.'
Those were the words.
Sky looked at the skeleton and sighed.
Many years ago, this cave which was sealed was accidentally discovered. He was the one who discovered it. He slayed a beast that occupied this space and took over the cave. In this world where he was the strongest person, who was being haunted by the passing time and loneliness, this cave became a ray of new hope.
In that cave, the skeleton has documented everything he has experienced in his life.
Sky didn't know why he was sealed and where he came from. But all he knew was that this man came from world beyond his imagination and that world is full of possibilities. The ceiling that has kept him suppressed is not there in that world and he can grow and explore further.
However, the problem with that is, this person that mentioned everything about the world, didn't say anything about how to reach it.
He went through the person's belongings and found out a device. A device that was beyond his understanding. Over the years he worked on that device, hoping to find something. Despite being amazing, it didn't serve his purpose.
There are no clues of going out. Only that they there is something out there. However, there is one passage at the corner of the cave that gave him something.
'No matter what I tried, I couldn't break past the strength that I have right now. If I just became a bit stronger, I would have been able to get out of here.'
That's what it was written there.
Sky interpreted that he would find a way out if he became stronger. Until then, Sky didn't have much motivation to grow stronger. He has already become the strongest person in the world. So, he didn't see any path further.
Then he knew there is a goal further, but he couldn't find the path forward.
He tried everything. He tried to extend on the existing cultivation techniques, but he couldn't do much. Then in that madness, he resorted to the genetics of the beasts. He is not an expert. Even if he managed to study, he couldn't really reach the level of expertise needed to achieve his goal.
He then went to the other strongest. Aqua was the one who was interested in the beasts since the start. She managed to bring progress faster. The land abomination, whose original name he couldn't even remember anymore, was too impatient and took preliminary results.
Aqua managed to derive two more sequences after that, creating two different serums. They took a gamble and he took one while she took the other.
He managed to luck out and got the more stable one.
All three had one thing in common though. They lost their humanity pretty quickly. It was heavily suppressed by this new gene. They started spreading their versions of the gene. When they finally managed to regain some sense of sanity, they realized that they are too far gone.
Land abomination moved further away and tried to complete his transformation one way or the other. Sky abomination was still set on finding a way out. Whether it is through the transformation or by other method.
Aqua... she was the most conflicted of all, because the damage she did is much more than the other two.
Sky abomination then noticed something else. All three started having some mental problems. Some behavioral changes started occurring and they turned out to be permanent. Land abomination became stupider, sky abomination became short tempered, aqua became
hysteric.
At one point they didn't know what to do anymore. Finally, Sam came here. The rest... he couldn't help but sigh as he thought of the path forward.
He knew the inevitable is coming for him. He has seen what Sam did. The only reason Sam hasn't killed him yet is because he didn't find him yet. And he believed that he could be found soon. He has seen the bird puppets that are roaming all over the planet.
It is only a matter of time.
Even though he is fundamentally stronger than Sam, he has no belief that he would be able to win and survive against the other party.
He sighed heavily again.
*THUD* *THUD* *THUD*
Suddenly he heard heavy footsteps. His eyes widened as he turned to take a look. Sam stood there at the cave entrance looking inside curiously. His eyes even ignored Sky abomination and looked at the skeleton in the middle.
"I am guessing that is the source of all the troubles."
"You are here. I was wondering when you will show up. I knew you would find this place sooner or later."
"I found it a while ago. The only reason I didn't attack is to ensure that you don't have enough lackeys. You might go berserk and destroy everything using those lackeys while I am stuck
here with you."
"So, now that the lackeys are almost dead, you came. To kill me?"
"Kind of." Sam admitted as he confidently waltzed in and looked at the wall.
Sky abomination didn't say anything and watched him.
"Another unfortunate soul, toyed around and thrown away by the gods." Then his gaze landed on something else. A device at the corner of the room.
A device Sam is kind of familiar with.
"I am assuming it is this guy's?" Sam asked. The abomination nodded.
"Are you familiar with it?"
"Yeah, a few of my acquaintances are stuck with it."
Sam walked to the device and checked it out. It is a dimensional transference device. The
navigator device given to the players when they were barely leaving desolate. The players are still stuck with it. Since then a bunch of features have been added to it, allowing them to travel around a bit more freely.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
But of course, they are utter trash compared to the dimensional drifter, Sam has.
And the one in front of Sam, seemed to be even trashier.
"This is an older version. And I can see, you have made quite some modification here. So, this
is why you managed to interfere with the spatial transfers across the planet.
Not a bad idea. I will probably continue using this after you die."
"Why do you have to kill me? Why did you even come to this planet? What is your purpose?"
The Sky abomination asked.
"Simply put, some gods who are too bored for their own good made up a game and told us to conquer worlds. Yours happened to be one of them and here we are.
As for killing you... I guess I can accomplish my goals even without killing you. I can even leave you be. But I can't trust you to not destroy whatever I am going to make out of this
planet."
"What?"
"I have taken a look at the gene structure since I had some time today. You guys.... irrespective of the stability, you are all doomed. I am sure you have noticed. Your lifespan has reduced.
You won't live long."
"Then..."
"Of course, you might make a plea, saying that I should just leave you be for that short time, but the reason your lifespan is reducing is because the spiritual core is being effected by the physical changes. It is consuming your life essence for that transformation.
Once your life essence reaches a certain level, your mind won't work anymore. You will lose complete control over your humanity and you will go berserk.
You will start transforming whatever creatures that are left to match your genes. In a way you
will be creating a new race.
I don't really that's much a big deal in grand scheme of things, if you actually succeed. But the downside is too much.
This race that you are going to create, will not be able to reproduce normally. It will only
invade other species and turn them."
Sam paused and looked at the Sky abomination who fell to his knees. Tears streamed down his eyes. Sam sighed and just let him be for a while.
"Can you do me a favor?"
"What?"
Sam got off the mountain and looked at the cave. The Sky abomination still stood in there.
The abomination held a card in his hands. Much like the one Sam used all this while. Sam took
out a card by himself and threw it into the air.
*BOOM*
He shot it with a fire ball.
*BOOM* The peak of the mountain, along with the cave and the abomination within... everything
exploded.
Sam looked at the explosion and said out loud.
"And here I was expecting showdowns. I guess the first perspective I had of this problem is
wrong on so many levels. The two biggest villains had already given up and only needed a
push.
I wonder how the others would feel if they had known this. Anyway, I can tie up the ends and get the fuck out of here."
What do you think?
